Michael Dücker, was born in 1962 in Fulda.

He studied lute with Konrad Junghänel at the "Musikhochschule Köln".Michael performed, both as continuo lutanist and soloist, throughout Europe and in South America with renowed ensembles and orchestras such as: musica antiqua köln, Concerto Köln, La Stravaganza Köln,La Stagione Frankfurt.

With these ensembles and others he has made numerous Radio and T.V.recordings as well as many price winning C.D. recordings released by companies such as: DGG/Archiv-Produktion, Denon, Sony Classical, Capriccio, Dabringhaus &Grimm. Michael´s extensive experience as a continuo player was gained while performing for many, mostly German Opera Houses. In the Opera Houses of Stuttgart, Hamburg, Cologne, Berlin he performed baroque operas composed by Monteverdi, Purcell, Cavalli, Handel.

Michael´s first solo C.D. with works composed by Silvius Leopold Weiss was released by Thorofon. A second solo C.D. featuring lute concertos by Adam Falckenhagen was released by WDR and can be ordered by here. In addition he can be heard on C.D. as soloist with musica antiqua köln performing the lute concerto by Fasch and a quintet concerto composed by Heinichen.
